Cigar Aficionado’s 2013 Top 25 Reveal Schedule

CA Staff
Posted: November 21, 2013

While it may be hard to believe, the end of the year is nearing, and with it comes another edition of Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 Cigars of the Year list.

The Top 25 Best Cigars of 2013, like in year's past, will first be revealed here on CigarAficionado.com. However, instead of waiting until after the holiday season, this year's list will be unveiled right in the middle of December, just in time to purchase a couple cigars from the list for a friend or significant other.

The reveal schedule for the Top 25 Best Cigars of 2013 list is as follows:

Monday, December 16: Cigars No. 10, 9, 8, 7 and 6
Tuesday, December 17: Cigars No. 5, 4, 3 and 2
Wednesday, December 18: The Cigar of the Year
Thursday, December 19: Cigars No. 11 through 25
Friday, December 20: Best Bargain Cigars

Click here to check out last year's best cigars, as well as year's past.

Awesome news! I'm very happy to hear the list will be released BEFORE the holidays. I can't wait to see who made it and who didn't. I'll be curious to see if DPG 10th Aniv LE, Herrera Esteli and Tatuaje 10th Aniv. make the list.

Can't wait! Gonna go out on a limb and make predictions for the Top 10. 1 Altadis cigar no one cared about, 1 General cigar no one smokes, 1 Rocky, 1 Fuente and one made by Fuente, something by Pepin...maybe two, a Padron Anniversario, 2 Cubans and a wild card of some sort.

@float dub You forgot a Davidoff no one can afford to smoke!

I spoke to Willy Herrera at the Big Smoke Vegas and told him how much I enjoy his Herrera Esteli. I think it will be top 3, possibly #1. Great smoke in case you haven't tried one yet. To me, it is the closest legal cigar on the market to a Cuban in taste and appearance. I hope float dub is wrong, Altadis is cookie cutter and Fuente hasn't put anything really special out in a while.

Thanks again to CA for the Big Smoke, still enjoying my own cigar shop at home with how many different smokes I have!

There are those of us that say Drew Estate should be up at the top, and that's just an opinion of course but being from Canada where Cubans are legal I'd say that's pretty high praise. The general consensus is if DE would only do some advertising they would do a lot better. All the same I can't wait for the list.

The Top 25 is always great fun. At the end of the day what counts is what your palette likes. BTW Davidoff may have some premium priced cigars but they also have offerings under $10. Its really no different than most other manufacturers. Can't wait to read the list.

Ok...so far so good. One by Fuente and one made by Fuente (Ashton) and the wildcard (Gurkha?!?) and the strangely relevant...forgot that one...goes to Herrera Esteli. Usually CA is out of touch as we all know....way to pick one decent one. It's usually a tat or an Illusione.

Waiting with baited breath to see which Altadis, which General, which Rocky, which Cuban and which Padron Anniversario. So excited you guys!!

Connoisseur Corner, in CA Mag. 99.0% of cigars cuban. NC usually lowest rated, if they are even there. Marvin Shanken humidor room full of mostly cuban cigars. CA Magazine full of non cuban cigar ads, as that is all they can put in it.And you still believe their 25 top cigars list ? Who believes It ? GURKHA ?
Amicalement,
Guy, in France
