Miami Cigar & Company to Distribute Felipe Gregorio

Beginning on Labor Day, Felipe Gregorio cigars will be distributed by Miami Cigar & Co. The agreement was announced on Monday.
Nestor and Mariana Miranda started Miami Cigar in 1989. The company has remained a family business, and now distributes La Aurora and León Jimenes cigars along with company-owned brands such as Don Lino, Nestor Miranda and the Tatiana line of flavored cigars. President and co-owner Nestor Miranda thinks the Felipe Gregorio line will be a strong addition to their other brands. "We are delighted to have such a well regarded, long established brand to our portfolio," said Miranda.
Phillip Wynne, owner of Felipe Gregorio, began making cigars in 1990. He first opened a factory in Nicaragua, then another in the Dominican Republic. In January, Wynne shut down the Nicaraguan factory, moving his entire production to the Dominican location.
Since the company's beginning, Wynne has overseen all aspects of the business, but now he wants to focus entirely on production. "I was far more valuable to the company in the factory than out selling cigars," he said.
The Felipe Power Special Robusto was honored as one of last year's Top 25 Cigars.
