First Ever: A Regional Edition Cigar for Cuba
Gregory Mottola
Posted: March 10, 2010
Exclusivo Cuba. That's what the secondary silver and crimson regional-edition band on this fat La Gloria Cubana reads, and this release marks the first time that Cuba has a regional-edition cigar of its own.
The cigar is called the La Gloria Cubana Delicioso, and is designed to be sold only in Cuba. The Delicioso is 5 inches long by 48 ring gauge—a standard Hermoso No. 4 size in Cuban factories—and comes in handsome white ceramic jars of 25 with tiny humidification units in the lids. Only 2,000 jars (50,000 cigars) have been produced.
"They are really gorgeous," said one cigar merchant in Havana. "They are going to sell out very quickly."
