Diamond Crown Lounge Opening
David Savona
Posted: September 13, 2007
The first Diamond Crown lounge is celebrating its grand opening on September 29 at Davidus Cigars, in Urbana, Maryland. The lounge features leather easy chairs, a pair of high-definition plasma televisions and wireless Internet services.
Diamond Crown is owned by the J.C. Newman Cigar Co. of Tampa, Florida, and the cigars are made by Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. in the Dominican Republic. The brand helped usher in the popularity of fat cigars upon their release in the mid 1990s. J.C. Newman's Bobby Newman will be on hand for the grand opening.
As smoking bans are becoming more prevalent, many cigar shops are opening cigar lounges to allow their patrons a place to smoke and relax in peace.
Davidus Cigars is owned by brothers Steve and David Castro. The Urbana store is their fifth.
