Cigar Oasis XL

If you liked the original Cigar Oasis humidifier for your humidor, you may want to check out the new and improved Cigar Oasis XL.

Introduced in 1998, the original Oasis was designed to humidify cigars using an electronic automated system. The XL works on the same principle but has some updated features.

Both models have a fan that circulates humidified air throughout the box, powered by a ribbon-like cord that slips through the hinge in the back of the humidor connecting the device to a wall outlet. The XL adds a microprocessor, a digital display screen and a battery pack.

The microprocessor allows a user to set a desired humidity, then it regulates the degree of humidity. When opening your humidor, you can look at the digital display screen, which will tell you what the humidity in the box was 30 seconds before it was opened as well as alert you if the distilled water supply or battery power is running low. The battery pack holds six AA batteries and attaches directly to the unit. Distilled water is stored in an interior compartment.

Measuring 3 1/2 inches tall, two inches wide and six inches long with the battery pack on, Cigar Oasis XL is intended for use in a 75-to 100-capacity humidor and can operate for six months unregulated as long as the humidor is opened and closed periodically. It has a suggested retail price of $119 and is available at retail tobacconists.
