Ashton's Aroma de Cuba Brand Now Rolled in Garcia Factory

Ashton's economically priced La Aroma de Cuba brand, formerly produced in northern Honduras by Altadis U.S.A. Inc., is now being made by Jose "Pepin" Garcia in Nicaragua at the My Family Cigars factory. Ashton moved the operation earlier this year, and has made some changes to the brand.

La Aroma de Cuba was first released in 2002 as a budget-friendly premium cigar manufactured at Altadis's Flor de Copan S.A. factory in Honduras. This year Ashton decided to turn the operation over to Garcia, who makes San Cristobal, La Aroma de Cuba Edición Especial and other cigars for the Philadelphia company.

"We made the decision to move the brand from Altadis in Honduras to the Garcia family's factory in Nicaragua," said Ashton vice president Sathya Levin. "It is nothing against Altadis, but we were very impressed with Pepin's work, and everything we've done with him has had such a positive customer response."
