Savinelli Signs on Plasencia for Puro
David Savona
Posted: June 25, 2010
Savinelli has finished blending a new Nicaraguan puro made by the Plasencia family in Nicaragua. The Savinelli Nicaragua Reserve is made with Nicaraguan criollo seed wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler, and is rolled at Plasencia's Segovia Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The gently pressed cigars are medium dark, and packed in burgundy red boxes of 20. The line comes in four sizes: Corona Gorda, which measures 6 5/8 inches by 48 ring, and retails for $6.10; Robusto, a 5 by 52 cigar that sells for $6.35; Toro, which measures 6 by 50 and sells for $6.60; and a 6 1/2 by 52 Torpedo that sells for $7.10.
