La Aurora S.A. has been doing cigar tastings for the public for some time. The events are led by either Guillermo León (pictured), the head of the cigar company, or José Blanco, the head of marketing. Next week, the two will host a cigar event together for the first time.
On Wednesday, April 28, León and Blanco will host cigar smokers at Tobacco Plaza in Great Neck, New York, the home of Aurora's only branded cigar lounge. The event is the official launch party of the Aurora 107, a cigar that commemorates the 107 years of Aurora cigars. The new brand comes in three sizes: Robusto (4 1/2 inches by 50 ring), Toro (5 1/2 by 54) and Belicoso (6 1/4 by 52), and retails for $6 to $8 each.
All Aurora cigars are made by La Aurora S.A. in the Dominican Republic, and are distributed by Miami Cigar & Co.
