Andrew Nagy
Posted: April 15, 2010
Washington legislators on Monday passed a bill that raises the state's premium cigar tax cap from 35 cents to 65 cents per cigar.
Engrossed Substitute House Bill 2493 passed the House vote, 54-43, as well as the Senate vote, 28-17.
The measure also states "little cigars," or any cigar with a cellulose acetate integrated filter, will now be taxed at the cigarette tax rate, which jumped up to $3.02 a pack.
