A pair of new Ashtons that were unveiled during the summer trade show are finally shipping to cigar stores. The Ashton Virgin Sun Grown Eclipse and Ashton Estate Sun Grown 23-Year Salute are arriving in shops this week.
"We're finally shipping our limited-edition releases from IPCPR," said Ashton vice president Sathya Levin, speaking about the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers trade show held in New Orleans, Louisiana, in August. "It's a little bit later than we would have liked, but better late than never." The Philadelphia company is shipping 500 boxes of the Ashton VSG Eclipse and 200 boxes of the Ashton ESG 23 this week.
Both cigars are made in Santiago, Dominican Republic, by Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia., the maker of Arturo Fuente and Fuente Fuente OpusX cigars, among many others. The Ashton VSG Torpedo is the No. 9 Cigar of the Year.
For more information on the cigars, see Tuesday's Cigar Insider.
