Christie's Auction Features Rare Cubans, Recent Cigars

Cigars made decades ago and many rolled in recent years will go up for auction at Christie's King Street location in London on October 16. The sale, which is bundled with a much larger auction of vintage wines, consists of 94 lots of cigars.
Ten lots contain Cuban Davidoff cigars, which haven't been made since 1991. They include several Davidoff No. 1 cigars, which are lanceros measuring 7 1/2 inches by 38 ring gauge.
Havana Dunhills are among the most collectible cigars in the world and also no longer rolled. A box of five Dunhill Havana Club cigars from the mid-1980s is the only Dunhill lot at this auction.
Among the cigars rolled before the Cuban revolution includes a box of 100 Romeo y Julieta Selección de Luxes in a wooden presentation case containing four sizes: petit corona, corona and two types of perfectos.
