Prometheus Travel Humidor

A travel humidor's ultimate goal is to present precious cigar cargo unblemished and in optimum smoking condition at a journey's end. A glance at the Prometheus Travel Humidor and you can see that in-transit style can also be a consideration.
With its fine wood veneer, beveled edges and high-gloss finish, the piece is really more like a miniature desktop humidor then a durable travel tool. The exterior is apparently so fine that Prometheus provides a protective canvas carrying case -- so that the case has a case. But it is not just a pretty facade. Inside, Prometheus offers a secure location for your smokes. The interior is made of cedar and is equipped with movable wooden slats to hold cigars in place. A small disk humidifier, made by Credo for Prometheus, is also supplied. Measuring about the size of a hardcover novel -- 9 inches long, 7 inches wide and 2 inches deep -- the humidor can store up to eight or ten robusto-sized smokes. With these dimensions, however, it seems more suited to a briefcase or satchel. A bulge that size in the breast pocket of a sport coat could get you taken in for questioning with the airport police.
Prometheus began in the industry as the maker of mostly cigar and cigarette lighters. Since then, the company has expanded its product collection to offer various cigar accessories, such as ashtrays (made in Italy), cigar cases (Spain), cigarette cases (Germany), cigar cutters (Japan), humidors (France and Italy), lighters (Korea and Austria) and pipes (Italy).
The Prometheus Travel Humidor comes in either macassar ebony, piano black or walnut veneers and has a suggested retail price of $250.
