Smoke-Free New England
Posted: June 20, 2007
New Hampshire has become the last state in New England to bow to a comprehensive statewide smoking ban.
Gov. John Lynch signed a bill yesterday that would extend the reach of existing regulations in the "Live Free or Die" state. The New Hampshire indoor smoking act outlawed puffing in most public and work spaces, but allowed the practice in restaurants and cocktail lounges. When the new law goes into effect on September 17, patrons will no longer be permitted to smoke inside such establishments.
