New Ashton ESG Size Released
Posted: February 28, 2007
The first shipments of the Ashton Estate Sun Grown size, the 21 Year Salute, hit retail stores in major cities across the country.
The 5 1/4 inch by 52 ring robusto is the second cigar in the ESG line to be released; the first, the Churchill-sized 20 Year Salute, came out last summer. The new cigar retails for $17.50, as ESG is the most expensive brand in Ashton's portfolio. Made by the Fuentes, the cigar uses wrapper that comes from the same farm as the wrapper that covers the Fuente Fuente OpusX. The OpusX leaf is shade-grown, while the leaves designated for the ESG are sun-grown. According to Robert Levin, president of Ashton Cigars, only 50,000 21 Year Salutes will be made this year.
