Rare and Vintage Cigars at Christie's Auction

At 5 p.m. sharp, on November 16, Christie's of London began auctioning off a selection of fine vintage and rare Havana cigars.
Many of the cigars came from newly acquired private collections. The highest priced lot was a Romeo y Julieta humidor cabinet of 100 Casa Reales cigars (pictured). The Partagas Salamones Especialidad Humidor from 1996 contained 50 Salamone-shaped cigars. As usual, Cuban Davidoffs were a hit with the bidders, most notably a box of 25 Dom Perignons from the 1980s and a cabinet of 25 Château Lafite cigars (pictured) from the 1980s. Some lucky bidders got away with boxes of 25 Romeo y Julieta Exhibición No. 2 cigars from the 1970s on the cheap.
