Xikar Dresser/Organizer Humidor

Michael Moretti
Posted: January 2, 2006
Xikar presents a new slant on the conventional desktop with a humidor that melds the traditional box with the traditional dresser organizer. The product contains not only a space for your cigars but one for your keys, wallet and various pocket knickknacks you collect over the course of the day.

The Dresser Organizer/Humidor has a smooth, matte, black-lacquer finish over a cedar interior. Click the stainless-steel push-button latch to open the lid and a sectioned leather-trimmed tray with felt lining is revealed. There are four sections of varying size. On either side of the tray, leather pulls allow you to lift the tray to access the compartment underneath built for cigar storage. The space includes a removable, oblong humidification unit and is capable of housing up to 10 five-inch sticks with a 50-ring gauge.

The handsome piece has solid joints, steel hinges and a good seal. Since it is built to store a wallet and other valuables such as a ring or a watch, a locking mechanism could be a useful addition.

Well known for its Xi cigar cutters and line of knives, this is the Kansas City, Missouri-based company's first foray into the humidor world. Starting in 2005, Xikar has sought to expand its business with a broader range of accessories including a line of leather goods -- such as cigar cases -- as well as a new lighter design and a travel humidor/organizer. All products are available.

The Dresser Organizer/Humidor has a suggested retail price of $79.99. For more information, call Xikar at 888-266-1193.
