Beretta Shot Shell

It may not get through the metal detectors at the airport, but the Shot Shell cigar humidor from Beretta offers a surefire way to tote your smokes.

Manufactured by the Cigar Traveler Co., the cylindrical case is licensed by Fabbrica D'Armi Pietro Beretta SpA, a five-century old Italian firearms maker, to accommodate the stogie-puffing marksman.

The three by nine and a half inch humidor is crafted to replicate a high base 12-gauge shotgun shell. The body of the humidor is made of red plastic, lined in cedar and is topped off by a brass cap with a screw-off, rubber-lined brass lid. The cylinder humidor is solid, and looks tough enough to stand up to the jolting and jostling of the average hunting expedition -- or even an African safari.

Unscrew the perforated-edge disc on the underside of the lid to reveal a cup holding a surgical foam disc, which acts as the humidification unit. Small holes on the underside of the lid allow the humidity to escape and moisten the cigars within. The humidor can hold up to seven 55 ring-gauge by eight and a half inch long cigars.
