New Laguito No. 6 Size for Headley Grange
Posted: May 12, 2014
The bold Headley Grange cigar brand is receiving an additional size this summer and it looks nothing like the rest of the line. Based on Cuban size parameters, the Headley Grange Laguito No. 6 measures 6 1/2 inches long by 56 ring gauge and comes finished with a twisted, fantail-style cap.
Unlike the rest of the Headley Grange cigars, which are all subtly box-pressed, the Laguito No. 6 is made with a traditional, round parejo shape.
"I was very interested in the Laguito No. 6 size," said brand owner Jon Huber. "As soon as the Cubans did it [with the Cohiba Behike BHK 56], it became an instant classic, so I went to Ernesto [Perez-Carrillo] and asked if we could make it. He said yes."
Headley Granges are produced in the Dominican Republic at Perez-Carrillo's Tabacalera La Alianza factory. According to Huber, the rollers only produce from 200 to 225 Laguito No. 6 cigars per day for an overall planned production of 50,000 cigars by the end of the year. They will come packaged in 10-count boxes with slide-lid tops "just to make it more interesting on retail shelves," Huber said. A price is not officially set, but Huber expects the Laguito No. 6 to retail in the $10 range.
Though the shape is vastly different than the rest of the line, the blend is the same—Ecuadoran Sumatra around Nicaraguan binder and filler. This new release brings the Headley Grange line to six, regular-production cigars.
