Tiny 601 La Bomba Shipping Soon
Posted: May 6, 2014
Espinosa Cigars is expanding its La Bomba line of strong cigars that bear ultra-long pigtails with the Sake Bomb. The short smoke measures a mere 4 1/2 inches long by 42 ring gauge.
Like all La Bombas, the Sake Bomb sports a pigtail nearly half its length. Rather than sticking straight up, the La Bomba pigtail is folded and pressed against the body of the cigar. The offbeat construction is meant to resemble the fuse on a bomb, hence the brand name. The cigar also has a band at the foot, rather than near the head of the cigar.
The smoke will have a suggested retail price of $6.75, and will come in boxes of 10. The company hopes to begin shipping on May 12.
601 brand cigars have scored between 86 and 91 points in blind tastings conducted in Cigar Insider and Cigar Aficionado. The cigars are now made at La Zona Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua.
