Carrillo Shipping 2013 Edición Limitada Now

Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and the EPC Cigar Co. are winding down 2013 with one last cigar: the Edición Limitada 2013, which is shipping now.
The 2013 E.L. blend is composed of Nicaraguan filler leaf and a double binder of Nicaraguan and Brazilian origin, all capped with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. The company describes the blend as medium to full in strength. It comes in one size: a 6 1/8 inch by 54 ring gauge Toro.
It's the first time Carrillo (a Cigar Aficionado Hall of Famer) has used San Andrés wrapper in a blend before—a stunning revelation considering the number of years (more than 40) he's been in the business, and the number of blends that have passed through his humidor.

Edición Limitada 2013 comes packaged in gorgeous, polished boxes of 20 cigars apiece, and each of the 1,500 boxes in the limited run sport a numbered plaque on the front. The final price will land somewhere around $300 per box and $15 per stick.
Look for more about Carrillo's experiment with San Andrés and a tasting of this blend in an upcoming Cigar Insider.
