CAO Boosts Brazilia with New Carnivale Blend

An amped-up version of the familiar CAO Brazilia brand is heading to stores this week with more strength and some new packaging.
The CAO Brazilia Carnivale is an altered version of the original Brazilia blend, incorporating more ligero into the filler, and a new wrapper.
Rick Rodriguez who heads up blending for CAO said, “We haven’t changed any CAO blends since we took over the brand. But that doesn’t mean we couldn’t put our spin on one of them. We added a new wrapper, made the original wrapper the binder, and cranked the whole thing up with more ligero.”
Brazilia was originally released in 2001 in three sizes. It featured Nicaraguan binders and fillers finished with a dark Brazilian Araparica wrapper.
For the Carnivale blend they are substituting a new, rare wrapper of Habano leaf grown in Connecticut. The filler, which has also been altered, consists of tobaccos from Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic, including a hefty dose of ligero, which is the strongest type of tobacco.
Carnivale is only available through brick-and-mortar locations and comes in just one size—the popular 6 1/2 inch by 60 format. The cigars come packaged in bright yellow boxes of 12 and retail for $8.30.
