A new, limited-edition project with some familiar flavors is on the way to market from the guys at Room 101, and will be arriving to retailers as early as this week.
Combining elements of two previous Room 101 releases, the Room 101 Namakubi Ecuador is bits and pieces of the original Namakubi release and the Room 101 OSOK, the limited-run cigar produced in 2012 as a tribute to photographer Edgar Hoill.
“With the Room 101 brand we really like to explore and push the boundaries with different flavor profiles,” said Dylan Austin, head of marketing for Room 101 Cigars. “The Room 101 Namakubi Ecuador is the product of us combining two of our greatest successes to see if we could create something truly unique. With this new blend, we’ve done just that. The Room 101 Namakubi Ecuador is an absolute flavor machine.”
Honduran and Dominican filler tobaccos are the elements pulled from the Namakubi line (which had a Honduran wrapper), while the Ecuadoran wrapper leaf and Honduran binder are sourced from the OSOK project.
Four familiar sizes will be available in this new hybrid blend: Papi Chulo (4 inches by 42 ring), Filero (4 1/2 by 52), Ranfla (5 1/2 by 50) and Chingon (8 by 60). While the small Papi Chulo is a common parejo size across many of the Room 101 lines, the other three sizes are all perfectos, mirroring the three sizes of the Room 101 OSOK release.
Retailing from $6 to $12 per stick, the perfectos will come in boxes of ten, while the Papi Chulo will be available in boxes of 50. The brand is made in Honduras at the Tabacos Rancho Jamastran factory where Camachos are also produced.
