Lamborghini Forza Lighter, Les Mans Cutter

Carbon fiber is popular in the world of cigar accessories, but to this point the elegant finish has been limited to either black or silver. Not anymore.

Colibri, the exclusive distributor of Lamborghini cigar accessories to the United States, has introduced a striking red and black carbon-fiber finish, an industry-first, on its Les Mans cutter and Forza lighter. When held under light, the red catches fire and turns a brilliant, eye-catching orange, fitting for a product that carries the Lamborghini name.

The performance of the Forza lighter and the Les Mans cutter, which was used by Gordon Mott and David Savona in each of the Top 10 cigar of 2012 videos, is also notable.

The Les Mans cutter is a single-guillotine that operates vertically and features a 60 ring gauge opening. The sharp blade is spring-loaded and released by a silver button that can be operated with the push of a thumb. The cutter’s action is smooth, and while there is some play in the sliding mechanism, this does not affect the overall cut.

The Forza lighter is a single-flame butane that sports a prominent ignition on its body that takes its cue from Lamborghini. The large, black button is covered with a nice rubber grip and resembles the "start" ignition button found in many Lamborghini models.

Lighting is simple: the user flicks back a metal cap atop the lighter and pushes the ignition with his thumb. A distinct click is heard and, with the ferocity of an Italian engine, a strong, adjustable windproof flame emerges from the top. A nice design element of the Forza is the fuel window on the body that changes the clear color of butane fuel to red so a user can easily discern how much gas is left in the lighter’s tank.

Les Mann, executive vice president of Colibri, says the suggested retail price of the new red and black carbon finish Les Mans cutter is $125, while the Forza lighter sells for $150. Both are available at your local tobacconist.

I received a Lamborghini lighter as a gift from a retailer in Manhattan. After one month the screws started falling out, after a repair the lighter stopped working altogether. It is now in a landfill.

My lighters are fine these days, mainly cuz I use matches.
I bought the Colibri Lighter that was supposed to be the slimist one in their line. I paid $100.00 for it and after 2 months it stopped working. I brought it back to the retailer and they said I should have bought a Xiker because it has a better warranty. I'm now out the $100.00 and I bought the Xikar on line. I will never go back to that retailer again!

My buddy and I have Lamborghini lighters and when his was giving him an issue he sent it back to Colibri and they covered all the charges.
With the exception of Mr. Mann I would say that Colibri has the worst customer service I have ever seen. I once called and asked to purchase a few screws that came apart on one of their lighter/cutters and was told that wasn't possible. The next time I called I was told they do not service lighters that aren't under warranty even though I was willing to pay for them to be fixed. Think about that after a year if the lighter breaks there is no way to get it fixed. I have 4 sitting at the bottom of a draw and now had to go out and buy new Xikars. It is a shame I believe that they make the most elegant well designed aesthetic lighters too bad they don't service them and that they always seem to need servicing!

I received both lighter and cutter as a birthday present from my wife, the cutter is great but the Forza lighter does have issue with loose screws and lighting, I just moved on to my other lighters but it is too bad that Colibri released this lighter with so many issues, busy people barely have time to smoke a cigar much less having to deal with filling warranty complaints and shipping bad products to vendors for repairs.
I always purchased both Xikar and Colibri and have had a few issues with Xikar over the years but this is the first issue with a Colibri product.

I have given up on all good lighters. They never take a full fill after the original no matter how you prep them.

I had problems with mine too and I just chalked it up as a loss. Then I read this article yesterday and decided to send Mr Mann an email to vent some frustration. He answered my email within minutes and had the issue taken care of the next day. One of the best customer service experiences ever! Here is a vice president of a major company answering emails from consumers and 930 at night and making sure his customers are happy. Turn a negative experience into a positive one = loyal customer! Just want to mention I received a Colibri lighter a few years ago for a gift. I still use it today and it works fine. I smoke at least one a day during the week and up to 4 on the weekend days. So Mr Mann rest easy it is not that bad out there. Colibri has great products. Anything mechanical can have it's ups and downs.

In my world, its the downs that I hear about and want to make sure they are taken care of and addressed ASAP. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around, you could miss it".

I have owned a Clobri lighter for 15 years. I only used their gas and I have had no problems. I moved to Niagara Falls from Toronto. I tried to find a local retailer that carried Colibri but had no luck. While visiting my sister in law in Georgetown I stopped into a local Cigar store and picked up a beautiful Colibri lighter. Four months after purchase I had issues with the lighter. I contacted Colibri only to find this was an older model that was not even carried anymore.
I reached out to Mr Mann through e mail late one night.

Mr Mann contacted me back within minutes. The next morning he personally followed up. Within two days my problem had been rectified. He even took the time to follow up!! I've used his example of customer service in my business.
I wrote a letter to the Chairman of Colibri thanking him for having "the Mann" running the show. Outstanding support. Love the product.

Wow, just want to let you all know that after reading this and having a lambo lighter that stopped working, I thought I would give Mr Mann a shout. After sending him an email, he answered me right away and sent me a brand new lambo lighter no questions ask. I didn't even have to send him the defective one. Great service. Buy one they are tremendous.
