Ted’s Cigars Launches Dale Earnhardt Jr. Cigar

Posted: December 5, 2012
NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Ted’s Cigars have partnered to release a mild-bodied, one-size cigar branded with his signature #88, and it’s available now.
As the first third generation NASCAR driver, Earnhardt has a laundry list of racing accolades to his name, such as 10 consecutive wins as NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver, 19 career victories, including a Daytona 500, and two consecutive Nationwide Series titles. The “88” is rolled in the Dominican Republic, and made with an Ecuadoran wrapper, Dominican binder, and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic.
The blend is actually the same one that rated 88 points in Cigar Aficionado’s October 2011 issue for the Churchill size. Earnhardt’s signature cigar is a 6 by 50 Toro, which received an 87 in a May 2011 Cigar Insider test.
The cigars are all tubed in sealed glass, and available in packages of three, and boxes of 10 and 25. The tubes run for around $12 each.
