Powerhouse Mini Torpedo From La Flor Dominicana

Posted: September 25, 2012
La Flor Dominicana’s Litto Gomez is building a reputation as a crafter of ultra-strong smokes. One of his latest creations, the La Flor Dominicana Torpedito Ligero Oscuro Natural, made its public debut at the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers trade show in August and has now gone on sale in cigar shops around the United States.
The cigars are short, measuring 4 3/4 inches by 50 ring gauge, with torpedo tips. But don’t let their diminutive size fool you—the little La Flors are very, very powerful. “We put a little extra ligero in there,” said Gomez, speaking about the strongest classification of filler tobacco. “We probably should have called it Double Ligero.”
A test smoke of the cigars verified their potency. They are covered in dark, Ecuadoran wrappers and are filled and bound with Gomez’s homegrown Dominican tobaccos. They come packed in boxes of 40 and retail for $7.00 each.
The Torpeditos are one of dozens of exciting new cigars described in today’s Cigar Insider.
