Romeo by Romeo y Julieta

Romeo y Julieta, the largest premium cigar brand made by Altadis U.S.A. Inc., now has a fuller bodied and eye-grabbing new incarnation. Romeo by Romeo y Julieta will begin shipping early next month, and the cigar has a bold new look and completely new taste.

Traditional non-Cuban Romeo y Julietas are made with Indonesian wrappers and have a mild flavor profile. The new Romeo by Romeo y Julieta cigars are crafted with dark, Ecuadoran Habano-seed wrappers around an all-Dominican blend.

The cigar will come in four sizes, all of them considerably thick: Churchill (7 inches by 56), Toro (6 by 54), Robusto (5 by 54) and Piramides (6 1/8 by 52).

RyJ is one of the few Altadis USA cigars worth smoking imho. I'll be very interested in trying out this new line.......shame about the large rings though.

Too fat for a lancero kind of guy. I'll continue enjoying Porto Real tubes. I don't understand the current trend to smoke fat rings, 48 or 49 gauge was OK for Winston Churchill and a 38 for Fidel Castro.

Being 19, I'd agree with Joel. I'm willing to give them a try, but I'm more of a fan of the tradition look of cigars. This new "bold" look appears childish. If they are worth smoking, I'll continue with them, if not, flashy packaging won't keep me coming back.

I've had the pleasure of smoking a few of these cigars and they are simply fantastic!! The gentlemen at our lounge can't get enough of them. I applaud you Romeo Y Julieta for bringing a great asset to your cigar line.

I picked up a torpedo at my smoke shop for $7.50 to try out. My first initial reaction was "This thing is huge." It burned really nice and was a lengthy smoke. I was outside chatting with my wife for about an hour and half smoking it. They advertise it as being bolder and although I think the new label is atrocious looking they are true about the boldness. It started out a little mild but by the time you get down to the latter two thirds of the stick it a significant change from other RyJ's. I probably won't smoke too many more of them because there are better cigars at that price but I'm glad I tried it. Aside from the new design, I think it's a good addition to their line.
