Altadis Expands VegaFina Line
David Savona
Posted: February 17, 2012
Continuing its strategy to further boost its VegaFina line, Altadis U.S.A. Inc. has created the VegaFina Sumum. The cigar combines a Cuban-seed wrapper from Honduras with Dominican binder and a blend of fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Peru.
The cigar comes in one size, five inches by 54 (making it a fat robusto) and is packed ten to the box. The suggested retail is $6.75 a cigar and the cigars are coming out this month.
As reported in late 2011 by Cigar Aficionado, Altadis brought VegaFina back to the United States after a four-year hiatus, releasing the VegaFina José Seijas 2011. Seijas later retired from the company, stepping down in late January.
Look for a tasting of the new VegaFina in an upcoming Cigar Insider.
