Indianapolis,
Indiana, is the center of the football universe as the clock ticks down
to 6:30 tomorrow evening when the New York Giants and the New England
Patriots will take to the field to fight it out for Super Bowl XLVI.
Stars of the football field, film and television have been enjoying the
city, and in many cases lighting up cigars during the celebratory week
at some of the area’s cigar bars.
On
Thursday night, former NFL great and current ESPN personality Ron
“Jaws” Jaworski hosted his third annual Super Bowl party, a fundraiser
benefiting the Jaws Youth Playbook and Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana.
The event, which was held at Nicky Blaines Cocktail Lounge, featured
cigars from General Cigar Co., Miami Cigar & Co., Rocky Patel
Premium Cigars Inc., S.A.G. Imports Inc., and even the Mike Ditka cigar
brand, represented by Coach Iron Mike himself. Jaworski, a cigar lover
who has attended Cigar Aficionado’s Night to Remember dinner, was joined
by his Monday Night Football booth mates, Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden.
Jaws
Youth Playbook was formed to help impoverished youths, especially those
living in the Philadelphia area. For more information, or to donate,

General
Cigar is giving out cigars at several other parties this week,
including a party tonight celebrating iconic rum brand Bacardi’s 150th
anniversary.
Today
at Indy Cigar Bar, NFL stars will mingle with cigar smokers puffing
Diamond Crown Gridiron Great cigars today beginning at 1 in the
afternoon. As with the Jaworski event, this one will benefit a charity,
as $1 from the sale of each cigar will go to the Gridiron Greats
Assistance Fund, supporting former NFL players in need. For more
information, or to help, visit gridirongreats.org.
