The New Look of Nat Sherman Cigars
David Savona
Posted: December 5, 2011
Nat Sherman cigars have been sold via catalogues and discounters, but the New York City retailer is about to launch a new brick-and-mortar version of its cigar brand. The cigar is called Nat Sherman Timeless Collection, a four-size line that will go on sale in a couple weeks.
Nat Sherman Timeless is being made by Manufactura de Tabacos S.A. (MATASA) in Santiago, Dominican Republic. It has a Honduran wrapper grown from Habano seed, Dominican binder and a filler blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. It will come in four sizes: No. 5 ($6.25), Hermoso ($7), Churchill ($7.50) and No. 2 ($8).
Michael Herklots, executive director, retail and brand development for Nat Sherman, calls the move a rebirth of a brand that was born within a retail store, and is being brought back to retail shops.
