FigOly, Downtown Los Angeles - More from Where to Smoke
The Porter House, Northern New Jersey

(continued from page 1)
In addition to being a fine-dining steak house, The Porter House is also one of the last places where you can smoke and eat at the same table, if you desire. The Porter House enjoys this privilege because it was grandfathered in when New Jersey passed its restaurant and bar smoking ban in 2006.
The cigar bar is also an officially licensed Montecristo Lounge, meaning it has an in-house humidor and sells all the brands Altadis U.S.A. Inc. manufactures, such as Warlock, H. Upmann, Romeo y Julieta and Siglo. The owner has also procured some boxes of Padróns, including the 1926 80th Anniversary Perfecto Maduros.
I sat down to my Arbeg and lit up an Aging Room Presto (rated 94 points in the most recent Cigar Insider). Inside the members-only section of the pub are humidified lockers that are overseen by staff. I saw former cover subject and actor James Gandolfini had his name on a box, and some members said he did smoke there “pretty regularly.” I sat back in one of the fine leather chairs, puffed on my cigar and watched the flat-screen TV tuned onto college football.
When the red velvet cake was placed before me, and I laid my cigar to rest in the table ashtray, I said to my date, “Next time, we’re eating in this room.”

Here, in Wichita, we have cigar lounges and steak houses, but none combined. You are indeed fortunate to have such a great spot to visit. Great article!

Wow, I wish they had a place like this in Atlanta.

@Al, There's a member's only section but the entire pub is a cigar lounge. Only place where smoking is not allowed is the dining room area I ate in.

I live about 5 minutes from The Porterhouse. It is my regular spot to enjoy a cocktail and cigar. The food is great and the atmosphere is friendly. Definitely a must visit for any cigar lovers in the area.
