Small Price Hike for La Flor Dominicana
David Savona
Posted: December 21, 2010
La Flor Dominicana, the Dominican cigar brand best known for its distinctively shaped powerhouse The Chisel, is raising prices.
Starting January 1 the company is raising cigar prices by 2.5 percent, which it says will result in average increase of about ten cents per cigar across the board. La Flor Dominicana said it would be the company’s first price hike (other than that necessitated by the SCHIP tax increase) since 2007.
A look at the new price list shows the high-scoring La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel will now have a suggested retail of $8.72. It previously retailed for $8.50, or 22 cents less.
La Flor Dominicanas are made in Tamboril, Dominican Republic, and distributed by Premium Imports Inc. in Coral Gables, Florida.
