Tatuaje Unleashes the Face for Halloween
Gregory Mottola
Posted: October 28, 2010
First it was Frankenstein, then it was Dracula, now Leatherface has come to haunt the humidors of a few select retailers across the country this Halloween season.
Tatuaje brand owner and spook-maven Pete Johnson has released The Face, the latest installment to the Monster Series, a line of cigars inspired by horror films and classic monster movies.
This particular size pays homage to Leatherface, the chainsaw-wielding antagonist from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a low-budget, 1970s slasher film that rose to cult status.
The cigar itself measures 6 3/8 inches by 56 ring and consists of Nicaraguan guts and a dark, Mexican wrapper. The hefty smoke wears a small ring of roughly hewn, light Ecuadoran Connecticut leaf near it's head—a contrast to the dark, Mexican wrapper and a macabre reference to the human skin mask worn by Leatherface in the movie.
