Rocky Patel Opening High-End Cigar Lounge

David Savona
Posted: October 27, 2010

Rocky Patel Premium Cigars is entering the cigar lounge business. Burn by Rocky Patel, a high-end cigar lounge that can hold up to 300 people, opens for business on November 6 in Naples, Florida. The venture has been in the works for nearly two years.

"Burn is an evolution in cigar lounges," said Rocky Patel. "We tried to make it an environment where a cigar smoker not only gets an education about cigars, but wine, brandies, Champagne and spirits. We'll have a staff that's fully trained in the best cigars, wines and spirits in the world."

While the cigar lounge will feature all of Rocky Patel's cigars (including The Edge, Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary and Decade) the cigar bar will also stock his competitor's smokes. "I think there are a lot of great cigars made out there," said Patel. "If you're a purveyor of the fine things in life you can't just limit it to my things."

Patel said he has also invited some of his colleagues in the industry to make limited-edition Burn cigars, for sale only at the lounge.

Burn by Rocky Patel will have a full bar, serving high-end spirits and wines, and will also have mobile carts so mixologists can prepare drinks right at a smoker's seat. Patel said the lounge wouldn't serve food, but would have cigar dinners catered by neighboring restaurants.

This place will be like his cigars. It will be great for the first year and then will subsequently become unpalatable.

Lee - that's pretty funny. I like the idea - but Naples? Tell my Grandpa I said hello...

Sounds like a great idea. Hope I can make it to the lounge one day and enjoy a RP Sungrown in style.

11/24/10, My name is Preston Weiters Jr. My favorite smoke is Nat Sherman, University 6x50.

I've wanted to try Rocky Patel out of curiosity; My retailer doesn't carry this brand, however. I always like to sample something before purchasing a whole box.

I'm open to any reviews on this brand. You can email me at: (,thx.

Try some of the cigar company's like or They usually have a lot of sample packs of all Rocky Patels or 1 or 2 of them in a variety pack. That is how I first tried them. I like them but still haven't tried half of them. good luck.

To Mike Butsko
Burn is open and is located next to Blue Martini. I have been there two times already.

Stopped by on Friday...tough to find a seat. A fantastic concept though and very popular. Not a peaceful place to have a smoke, at least not this night, but great for people watching. Rocky is right there keeping an eye on things. I'm looking forward to trying it at a more "quiet" time.

Rocky needs to open Burn in Las Vegas, NV. Why just naples, Florida?

Perhaps close to my house

Naples is one of the top five wealthiest areas in the country.

As excited as I am to hear that Rocky Patel is opening Burn in Naples, as I have a vacation house there, it has got to be in their best interest to pursue other locations in the other affluent area of the U.S. While Naples does have more millionaires per capita than any other U.S. city, I sincerely doubt that Naples is the best testing ground for the company's first cigar lounge.

I think this is a great idea. I would really like to have a place like this to go to, but Oregon has banned all smoking in public buildings...this includes all bars and any other place people can get together...and get this, even cigar shops. Now we, in Oregon, have no place to go to sit, relax, and enjoy our favorite cigars...that really makes me sad. Thanks Mr. Patel for setting up a place for people to go to that is in a state with open minded law makers.
