Davidoff’s New Maduro
David Savona
Posted: October 25, 2010
Davidoff has long shied away from maduro cigars. It was only 2008 when the Davidoff brand had its first maduro version. (And Dominican Davidoffs have been sold since 1991.) Now Davidoff has expanded its maduro line by introducing the Davidoff Maduro Toro.
The 6 inch long, 48 ring gauge smoke is made with a Nicaraguan wrapper grown from Cuban seeds and has an all-Dominican interior. Like all Davidoffs, it's quite a pricey cigar, with a suggested retail price of $18.50. A box of 25 is $462.50.
This is the third size in the Davidoff Maduro line, joining the Davidoff Maduro R (the original release, a robusto size) and the Davidoff Maduro C, a corona. Both cigars rated 88 points in Cigar Aficionado magazine.
All Davidoffs are made under the supervision of Hendrik Kelner in the Dominican Republic.
