The Montecristo Platinum blend is among the most intriguing of those made at the immense Tabacalera de Garcia factory in La Romana, Dominican Republic. The wrapper is an oddity, a Habana2000 seed grown in the San Andres Valley of Mexico. The Nicaraguan binder is wrapped around a filler blend of Dominican, Peruvian and Nicaraguan leaves. The end result is delicious, a smooth, earthy, 5-by-52 smoke that comes wrapped in a sleeve of cedar and packed in a tube emblazoned with the artwork of Michel Delacroix. A superbly crafted cigar.
