Cigarmaker José Seijas has done wonders with Peruvian tobacco, using it to add power and flavor to cigar brands once known as mild. He has also used it to create new brands, and one of his best is Trinidad. Named after the famed Cuban brand that was once used for gifts by the Castro government, the Dominican Trinidad is distinctive in its own right, made with lovely Sumatra-seed wrappers grown in Ecuador. The Peruvian, Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos combine for a spicy, flavorful and gutsy smoke, especially in this 5-inch, 50-ring robusto size.
