As with other Cuban brands such as La Gloria Cubana and Punch, Romeo y Julieta bands feature raised gold coins that are difficult to counterfeit. Most fakes are betrayed by lack of detail in the coins. Also notice the clean, blocky type used for the lettering in the centerpiece. The gold border is made up of dots that connect to make a line; the border on many fakes is a solid line. The background color is a rich, military red.
