La Aurora to Open First Cigar Lounge

Posted: Wednesday, September 23, 2009

By Andrew Nagy

La Aurora, the oldest cigarmaker in the Dominican Republic, announced it will celebrate the opening of its first branded cigar lounge next week with a night of food, music and Aurora 100 Años Lanceros.

The La Aurora Cigar Lounge will be inside Tobacco Plaza, a shop in Great Neck, New York, that has been owned and operated by Marshall Holman and family for the last 40 years.

Guillermo Léon, vice president of La Aurora, will be attending the October 2 event as well as Nestor Miranda, president of Miami Cigar & Co., the exclusive distributor of La Aurora cigars in the United States.

"New York was a natural location for the first lounge since a cigar store is about the only place in the state where you can enjoy a fine smoke," said Miranda in a press release. "We plan on adding other lounges across the country next year."
