A lucky member of the Cigar Rights of America hailing from San Antonio, Texas, has won a trip to the La Flor Dominicana factory, the first of the CRA's Latin America Cigar Trip Raffle.
The winner will fly to Santiago, Dominican Republic, where he will enjoy three days and two nights in a hotel, as well as behind-the-scenes tours of the La Flor Dominicana facilities, and dinner with Litto Gomez.
The raffles (which cover all costs, save for airfare) will take place once a month and the CRA hopes the program will boost membership, as well as further educate members about cigars.
Each trip is unique, according to CRA, and the cigar rights group will be posting more details on its Web site as they become final.
The next raffle will be a three-day, two night trip to General Cigar Co., also in the Dominican Republic. The winner will tour the factory where Macanudo, Cohiba, Partagas, Punch and La Gloria Cubana cigars are produced, and also get to learn about the tobacco cultivation and farming methods General Cigar employs. The drawing is scheduled for June 30.
Other cigar companies sponsoring trips as of now include: La Aurora, Rocky Patel Cigars, Drew Estate, Don Pepin Garcia, Tabacalera Perdomo and Graycliff.
