Ashton Distributors Releases Three New Sizes

Posted: Monday, May 25, 2009

By David Savona

Ashton Distributors Inc., the Philadelphia company that distributes Ashton and a host of other prominent brands, has recently shipped new sizes in three of its lines, including a fat cigar with a suggested retail price of less than $4. All of the cigars are made in Nicaragua by José "Pepin" Garcia, the maker of Tatuaje and many other highly rated brands.

The San Cristobal line now has a fat size called the Papagayo that began shipping in mid-April. It's so fat, it has unconventional packaging, coming 21 to the box, three rows of seven.

Earlier in May, Ashton started shipping a petit corona size for its La Aroma de Cuba Edición Especial brand, the newest one from the company. The Minuto (pictured), comes in boxes of 25 and has a suggested retail price of $6.

Ashton has also bolstered its bargain-priced Benchmade line, which is a sandwich cigar. The new size, called the Gordo, has a suggested retail price of $3.65.
