Huge New Bolivars Come to China

Posted: Tuesday, February 17, 2009

By Gregory Mottola

Perhaps 2008 was the year of the Salomon. Habanos S.A., Cuba’s cigar export company, has released the Bolivar Armonías to China's duty-free circuit, its second Salomon-size cigar to hit the market recently.

The limited-edition 7 1/4 inch by 57-ring gauge cigar is beautifully tapered at both ends. It is available at certain airport duty-free shops in China.

The Armonías come luxuriously packaged in attractive, red tins decorated with a Chinese motif and stamped with the official Habanos logo. The tin is protected by a Bolivar-branded outer shell. Every tin is numbered and holds eight cigars, each wearing a secondary band reading “Exclusivo China.”

To find out more about the Bolivar Armonías, such as where to find them and what they cost, see the next issue of Cigar Insider.
