La Aurora Releases Limited-Edition 100 Anós Preferido

Posted: Friday, February 13, 2009

By Gregory Mottola

La Aurora S.A., the oldest cigar company in the Dominican Republic, is using the last of its 100 Años blend tobacco to make one final limited-edition size: the Aurora 100 Años Preferido.

The zeppelin-shaped 100 Años Preferido is on sale now as a custom size at a handful of retail shops in the United States. On April 1, Aurora will release 500 boxes of the Preferidos across the country in honor of the acclaimed brand's final act.

The 100 Años Preferido measures 6 inches by 58 ring at its fattest point in the center (the cigar is symmetrically tapered at both ends) and is slated to retail for $16. Each box will contain 25 sticks.
