Fuente's New God of Fire Vintage

Posted: Monday, May 19, 2008

By David Savona

The 2005 versions are sold out, so God of Fire has released God of Fire by Don Carlos Robusto 2006 and God of Fire by Carlito Double Robusto 2006. The date on each cigar refers to the year the cigars were made.

God of Fire, named for the mythic Greek titan Prometheus, who dared to steal fire from the gods (and suffered mightily for the transgression), is a limited project produced as a joint venture between cigarmaker Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia and humidor and lighter maker Prometheus Inc. Each has its own character — the robusto is a blend created by Fuente patriarch Carlos Fuente Sr., while the double robusto is a blend by his son, Carlos (Carlito) Fuente Jr., who created the Fuente Fuente OpusX. The cigars are made at the Fuente factories in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
