Miami's New La Gloria
Posted: Monday, May 05, 2008
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s six-year project to create a new Miami-made cigar is nearing completion. La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Miami should go on sale next month.
“We’ve been producing them since January. We’re basically waiting on packaging,” said Perez-Carrillo of the cigars, which he originally hoped to debut in May.
The cigars are stronger than typical La Glorias, made by a tiny workforce in Miami and finished with dark, oily Nicaraguan wrappers grown from Cuban seed by the Plasencia family.
