Cigar Aficionado is Hiring

Cigar Aficionado magazine, the Good Life Magazine for Men, is looking for an associate manager of its award-winning web site, www.cigaraficionado.com. The ideal candidate will combine strong writing skills with the work ethic and ability to handle the daily deadlines of updating the website.
Cigaraficionado.com is updated daily with original editorial content, as well as serving as the online host for all of the magazine's stories.
The ideal candidate will:
- Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of updating the site with a variety of rich content, from news stories, to features, as well as videos and blogs.
- Write news stories, captions and headlines, quickly but cleanly, for the web as well as for Cigar Insider, our twice-monthly newsletter on the cigar business.
- Be a team player who can work with the new media department, on coding, with the art department for sourcing photos and other artwork, and with the editorial staff of Cigar Aficionado to ensure that the web site remains a vibrant online ambassador of the magazine.
- Track site traffic and develop content to increase page views, readership and opt-ins.
- Manage online discussions from readers.
- Work with the director of Cigar Aficionado Online to shape the look, feel and performance of the site over the long-term.
- Ensure that all aspects of the site perform as required.
Knowledge of HTML coding is required, as well as solid typing skills and experience in the field of journalism. The love and appreciation of a fine cigar is a plus. The job is based in New York City.
