Grand Havana Room Opens in Moscow
Posted: Monday, February 04, 2008
By David Savona
Grand Havana Enterprises Inc., which owns the private, upscale Grand Havana Room cigar clubs in Beverly Hills and New York City, has expanded into Russia. The Moscow Grand Havana Room opened in December, bringing one of the world's most celebrated cigar rooms to the former Soviet Union.
"It has the glitz and glamour of old Russia," says Stan Shuster, president and chief executive officer of Grand Havana Enterprises, the Los Angeles company that owns the Grand Havana Rooms.
The 10,000-square-foot Moscow club is located three blocks from the Kremlin and Red Square, near the KGB building. Shuster and Van Ronkel hope to take business
from local hotel lobbies, where Russian businessmen tend to hold their meetings.
