By Gregory Mottola
Morton's The Steakhouse in Baltimore will be hosting one final cigar dinner before Maryland's smoking ban goes into effect on this Friday. The Last Hurrah Dinner will be held on Thursday as a farewell to the dying tradition of smoking a cigar while eating steak.
Morton's The Steakhouse, which has long been known for its cigar-friendly atmosphere, is offering its guests a four-course menu accompanied by Davidoff cigars. The evening kicks off at 6:30 with a reception of cigars and cocktails, and followed by a selection of hors d'oeuvres that includes oysters, crab-stuffed mushrooms and scallops. Diners will then enjoy a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and a filet mignon steak in Bordelaise sauce served with mashed potatoes and sautéed greens. The meal will end with chocolate velvet cake and another cigar.
Tickets for the dinner are $125 per person, including tax and gratuity. The restaurant is located in downtown Baltimore's Inner Harbor at 300 South Charles Street.
