Posted: Tuesday, December 18, 2007
By David Savona
Puros Indios has a new name: as of November 30, the Miami company is known as Reyes Family Cigars. The name change coincided with the promotion of Carlos Diez from vice president to president of the company, which is owned by cigarmaker Rolando Reyes Sr. Diez, 30, is one of Reyes's grandsons.
Diez also announced plans for a new brand, called Premier. Set to debut in January, Premier will be the first cigar made by the company to have a Costa Rican wrapper. "This is the first time we've dabbled outside of the Ecuador
Sumatra," said Diez. Premier will have binder from Condega, Nicaragua, and filler from Jalapa, Nicaragua.
Look for a tasting in an upcoming Cigar Insider.
