Newman Named Chairman of U.S. Cigar Association

Eric M. Newman, president of the J.C. Newman Cigar
Co., was voted chairman of the Cigar Association of America on October 13, at the conclusion of the organization's 70th annual meeting, held in Charleston, S.C. Newman succeeds Theo W. Folz of Altadis U.S.A. Inc.
The Washington, D.C., group lobbies for the rights of cigar smokers and represents companies in the United States that make machine-made and premium cigars. Norman Sharp continues as president of the organization.
