DomRey to Distribute Royal Agio in U.S.

Posted: Wednesday, September 19, 2007

By Michael Moretti

Beginning this October, DomRey Cigar Inc. will take over U.S. distribution of the Royal Agio Cigar brands Panter and Mehari from Ashton Cigars.

Based in Bradenton, Florida, since 1995, DomRey distributes Cusano, Cuvee and Perfect Cut brand cigars -- a new DomRey brand. In addition to the United States, the company has distribution networks in Canada and Europe. Royal Agio, based in Duizel, Holland, sells 800 million cigars a year in 130 countries. Panter, a dry-cured, machine-made cigar that was developed in 1932, is Agio's best-selling brand, according to DomRey.

Agio cigars are produced in Sri Lanka and Belgium. The company's portfolio also includes the Balmoral cigar brand. Panter is aiming to launch a new line in the U.S. market soon called the Panter Dessert Filter, according to a release.
